Talking to Thai Summer Fruit

Fruit Seasoning...
Summer comes, fruit surround!!!

Pineapple is one of my favorite fruit,
BUT I have never known there are male and female.
Male pineapple is a bit more crispy and sour.
Female is crunchy and sweeter.

Here is female pineapple.
Does the farmer knows it by heart?
Nop, they knock to check it out. Sounds easy, right?
But I don't think so...

Don't surprise about the skin!!!
I learned that those were bite from bees :-0
It's not bad at all.
That made grapefruit sweeter.
Yes, you have to pay a bit more for a better quality.

Test the Taste of Rice Noodle

When I heard of the name, rice noodle,
I would think of Vietnamese dish.
There are different kinds of rice noodle
and in this post it's special flour made from
some plain rice mixing with sticky rice.

Traditionally, Thai people in northern eastern parts have it
on their special occasion.
Even though the original dish was from Vietnam,
Many Thais can find it in;
Northern part,
Nothern eastern part,
and Southern part,
as there are three kinds of soup that you would find.

Today, we can find them all at local fresh market or food court.
Yes, it's another dish of fast food in Thailand.
What do we have it with Som-Tum.

I only can finish a set of rice noodle and soup with a lot of vegetable on top.
What I am going to share is just simply ask for two different types.
Sounds strange? But you'll get to love it.

Here! there are making the rice.
I found this shop at a local fresh market.

It's last for day or two.
The good way to keep it is putting in the refrigerator
or buy it just about the portion you could handle it.

The  process is pretty similar of boiling spaghetti
Cold water in the big pot will keep the noodle cool down
and set in line nicely.

......A New Baby

                               Once upon a time...
We got to have a new family member.

My mom lost one of her beloved dog, Bai-Tery.
(Bai-tery is a kind of leaf that traditionally uses to boil
and serve as a special drink for guest)
We had her for almost 14 years.

Now, it's time for 'someone' new.  Here she is...LORA...
We gave the name from one of the star
from one of the popular soap opera that our mom loves.
Is she cute, look gentle, ...
Yes, she is very adorable and friendly.
Today, I am not sure what is the best definition to describe her.
She is more than friendly...cheerful...
    ..........
    ...
Finally, we found out the word. NAUGHTY!!!
way way too much happy...
Please stay tune to see how she will treat us at home :-)

My Fav Dishes from Bkk - Pattaya

Pizza!!!!
They were the great mix of anchovy and artichoke :-)
Very nice!!!

This reminded me of my greek friends.
They taught me how to eat a fresh artichoke
 and
fresh salad in Mediterranean style.
What's a wonderful moment!!

A cup of coffee on my way to Pattaya.
Not a well-known brand
but
taste great!!

Lovely foam
great smell of coffee bean
wonderful caramel :-)
Thought it's only Lavazza coffee is the best.
Not anyway!!!
I think I need to explore the world more.

Regular foods
we could think of at night :-)
I love to have it with regular congee.

Ramen noodle!!!
A little bit spicy but I can handle it.

My Fav dishes of the week

I got to travel during the week, so I got to try several dishes.
Here what I want to mention about are:

(Rice Dumpling)

You might get to find it in China Town but
we normally get to see around the town during its fest.

Yeah!! Ba'-Jhang Festival
it's Chinese tradition.
Inside are gingko, bean, chestnut,
Chinese mushroom,
Chinese sausage, pork fillet,
and sticky rice.

If you want to find it,
we have to check with Chinese calendar.

Ba'-Jhang

I got to order this
at the restaurant around the countryside
but
the main reason
was my mom doesn't feel like western foods.
Not those kids today, they prefer to try something new
whenever they get a chance to go out.

Stir fired Spaghetti with basil in Thai style

In the State,
I spent my time reading my textbook,
or hang out with some friends at coffee shop.
But here I spend my time at coffee shop to kill my time
while I am waiting for my friend and reading magazine
so i don't get to spend on that.
It's different atmosphere though :-(

Caramello with red valvet layer cake

Lavazza is my favorite coffee shop in the State
But I could easily find the shop around my house :-)

As Thais, we get used to taste strong taste.
The same as my sister-in-law, she loves to order this dish
at one of famous brand-name Japanese restaurant.
The taste is more tasty;
salty,
spicy,
and sour

Most importantly, it has to have vegetable,
not thai kids or new generation today :-(
